Women
CAWTAR media coverage
In September and October 2025, at the request of CAWTAR and as part of its AECID-supported "Transformative Collective Leadership" project, Radio Capsa FM covered the women's groups set up in El Guettar and Essned, in the Gafsa governorate. The radio produced and broadcast two field reports on these groups and their community projects, followed by a radio debate on women's inclusion in local development.
Context
In the governorates of Gafsa and Nabeul, CAWTAR runs a project focused on women's empowerment and transformative leadership, aiming at more inclusive local development. In 2025, the project led to the creation of three active women's groups, including those of El Guettar and Essned, involved in community environmental initiatives with the support of local stakeholders. To give these groups visibility and open a public debate, the centre turned to local radio stations. Radio Capsa FM, which had been covering its activities in Gafsa since 2023, was selected for the governorate.
